HR & Compliance

We run payroll, benefits, onboarding and offboarding, keep the company registered and filed in every state it touches, and own the response when a notice arrives.

Add people and states without flinching

People decisions and compliance are one structure. Payroll that runs makes the cost of the team knowable, a hire in a new state triggers the registration behind it, and filings on time make the exposure map real. Together they let you grow the team and the footprint against a plan instead of a hope.

  1. Regulators handled for you
  2. Every hire costed, fully loaded
  3. Entities in order, insured
  4. Every filing before it is due
  5. Contractors classified, states covered
  6. Benefits and onboarding handled
  7. Payroll that just runs

How founders use Quill

Everyone paid, every filing before it is due

When a new hire lands in a new state, the registration it triggers gets filed. Payroll, benefits and the filings behind them run on one calendar, so a people decision never quietly creates an exposure nobody is watching.

Payroll, benefits, registrations and filings on one calendar.

  • Payroll processing, tax compliance, and US filings, run through Gusto
  • Benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding workflows
  • Multi-state registrations, foreign qualifications, and registered agent management
  • Annual reports, BOI filings, Delaware franchise tax, and federal updates

Know what a hire costs, and what it triggers

Before you make a hire, we show what it will cost the company, fully loaded, what it does to your runway, and which registrations it sets off, in the same view. Exposures surface at onboarding, not months later as a penalty.

The live read on the cost of the team and where you are exposed.

  • The fully loaded cost of every hire: salary, employer taxes, benefits, and the state registrations it triggers
  • Headcount efficiency and burn-per-head analysis
  • Exposure analysis across entities, states, and filings
  • Audit readiness maintained continuously

Org decisions and regulators, handled

A termination, an equity grant, a reorg, a state notice: the decisions with the most personal and legal weight in the business. Our senior operators handle them with you, and deal with the regulator directly, so you never have to.

Where headcount and compliance become strategy.

  • Compensation structure and equity banding
  • Org design as the company scales
  • Terminations and reductions handled with discretion and clean execution
  • Audit response and regulator correspondence

Maya, the two September hires are set up: payroll, benefits enrollment and the California registration are done. The Delaware annual report is filed too; nothing else is due until the Texas franchise tax on Oct 1, which is scheduled.

What if your next finance hire is an autonomous department instead?

Tell us what you run today and where the business is heading. We scope it with you on the call and come back with a proposal.
